Mahraganat (aka 'street shaabi' or electro-shaabi) style is the most recent evolution of popular music and dance to come out of Cairo's Shaabi scene. In this electro-shaabi workshop we will explore this style and folklore through people, the music and the dance moves that make it what it is today! From the underground Egyptian scene to Cairo, from the Egyptian revolution to now! We will use the background and history to guide our expression and learn combos and movements that can be used in any choreography.
