LABDA is excited to bring Karla Marie to Lafayette, LA to teach 2 workshops. Karla Marie teaches and performs Raqs Sharqi, Classical Egyptian and Egyptian Folklore, and MENAHT-influenced Fusion dance. She has been belly dancing for 16 years, training with world renowned master instructors, and teaching since 2008. She incorporates energy healing techniques and Reiki practices into her instruction. Karla Marie directs Shimmy Shakti Troupe. She is also the Shimmy Soul: A New Orleans Belly Dance Experience Creator and Producer.
